Is your women’s history thesis worth €500?
Have you written a thesis on this area? If so, Atria and the Dutch Association for Women’s History (VVG) recommend that you enter the competition. It could earn you an award of € 500 and, of course, the honour!
Entry conditions Johanna Naber thesis prize
You are eligible for this prize if you have written a thesis on women’s history or gender history while attending a Dutch or Flemish university or institute of applied sciences. This can take the form of either a Master’s-level thesis, a doctoral dissertation or a licentiate thesis. You do not have to be a historian so long as the subject of your thesis relates to women’s history or gender history. In addition, your thesis must have been completed between 1 December 2018 and 1 December 2019.
How do you enter?
The deadline for submitting your thesis along with the completed entry form is 13 January 2020.

Johanna Naber
The prize is named after Johanna Wilhelmina Antoinette Naber (1859-1941). She was the author of many historical studies and one of the founders of the International Archive for the Women’s Movement, as Atria was originally called.
The history of the prize
The prize was created in 1989 by the foundation Yearbook for Women’s History. Its goal is to encourage and advance research in the field of women’s history and gender history. The prize is now administered and awarded by Atria and the Dutch Association for Women’s History.
