Duties and Responsibilities
The Institute for Global Health (IGH) is based within the Faculty of Population Health Sciences, UCL. IGH aims to support the development of robust solutions to aspects of the world’s major global health challenges.
The Centre for Global Health Economics, Institute for Global Health, is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to work on a feasibility study that aims to design a new intervention in order to increase the coverage of the sex work registration policy in Senegal.
The study is funded by the Medical Research Council UK and is conducted in collaboration with the HIV division of the Ministry of Health in Senegal, by Professor Cheikh Tidiane Ndour, co-investigator of this research.
The post is available for 12 months, in the first instance.
The post will be based at the Institute for Global Health, 30 Guildford Street, London WC1N.
Key Requirements
The post-holder will have an MSc in Economics or related field (sociology), or equivalent.
Fluency in French is an essential requirment since the post-holder will work in collaboration with staff from the Ministry of Health of Senegal and with a Senegalese qualitative researchers based in Dakar.
Knowledge and interest in conducting discrete choice experiments and the ability to write research reports to a high standard and for various audiences is essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills appropriate for collaborative work, evidence of flexible and an adaptable approach to work and to be self-directed.
It is desirable for the post-holder to have experience in working on global health and HIV, working knowledge of ethics guidelines and GDPR regulations. Previous organisation of research workshops, knowledge and experience in collecting and analysing qualitative methods (focus groups and in-depth interviews).
