Rosanna Fund for Women
Goal: stimulate PhD and postdoc research in the field of social geography and urban planning (urban geography)
Founded by: the faculty of Geosciences, in honour of Prof. Dr. Ronald van Kempen
The Rosanna Fund for Women provides short-term scholarships up to a maximum of 5,000 euros annually, for example for tuition, travel expenses, foreign residence, or to complete a dissertation. The increasing number of applications shows that the need for financial support among talented female students and scientists is still very high.
Who are eligible for grants?
Female researchers at crossroads in their careers. ROSANNA offers them financial support to reach the next professional step: a grant for a PhD or postdoc, assistance with publications or study trips abroad, support in obtaining a permanent appointment or professorship, etc. The amount awarded depends on the candidate’s financial situation, plans and needs. A grant from the Rosanna Fund for Women may vary per candidate, depending on the specific needs of the candidate.

The next deadline to apply for a Rosanna Fund Scholarship is November 15, 2020.
The Rosanna Fund for Women supports talented and disadvantaged women students and researchers who intend to build their careers at Utrecht University. The fund offers women students and researchers financial support to help them achieve academic success. The Rosanna Fund wishes to make higher education more accessible to women, so that no one has to be excluded because of limited financial means.
