Transnational Feminist Dialogues: The Present and Future of Women and Gender Studies in Afghanistan
The Margherita von Brentano Center for Gender Studies at Freie Universität Berlin is organizing a Transnational Feminist Dialogue Special Issue under topic “The Present and Future of Women and Gender Studies in Afghanistan”, in the context of the #4GenderStudies Action/Science Day.
The idea of the #4GenderStudies Action/Science Day started in 2017 with the intention to show Gender Studies in all their diversity and to portray their scientific contribution to different fields. Since then, it is celebrated online and offline every December 18 in the German-speaking context. In Berlin, we are focusing this year on the topic « Feminist Solidarities ».
The special issue focuses on the trajectory of scholars and students in Women and Gender Studies in Kabul and the provinces and invites to reflect on meaningful and sensible pathways of practicing transnational feminist solidarity with Afghan peers and colleagues in the field.
