The course will provide an arena for conversations on methodologies in feminist research with a focus on inter- and transdisciplinary approaches. It is also based on the assumption that methodologies cannot be discussed as delinked from issues of onto-epistemologies and ethics, and that methodological choices also always must be closely related to practice, i.e.to the building up of the specific project. Against this background, examples of different methodological entrance points, which have proved useful in feminist research, will be introduced, and their relations to onto-epistemological and ethical frameworks pinpointed. Each of the three teachers will present a methodological approach and account for its analytical usefulness in practice with examples from their own research. The three approaches are 1) autophenomenographic writing as method of enquiry; 2) figuration as a critical method for feminist thought-practices; and 3) post- and decolonial reading strategies.
The presented approaches are different from each other, but they are chosen as focus of this course because all three of them can be used beyond single disciplines, and, thus, be useful in many different disciplinary contexts.
In terms of format, the course will shift between lectures by the teachers, followed by discussion, text seminars, and group sessions, chaired by the teachers, where students are invited to present their PhD research with a focus on methodological questions and inquiries. Each project will receive responses from teachers and other group members.

For this course PhD students, but also Master’s students are eligible to apply.
The recommended accreditation is: 7,5 + 7,5 credits
